Over the years we have witnessed many trials that many have objected to; and we will see more in our lifetime. The Michael Brown case outcome may or may not have been what you wanted; but the true story is something we will never fully know.
The Grand Jury knows all the testimonies and evidence, which still has many sides to the story. The news will only give you bits and pieces of a story; most likely biased and to incite mixed emotions, violence, and looking for more news stories. This unfortunate event in my opinion should have never left local news, but then again out of the 1600 news sources (tv media, radio, newspapers) are all owned by 6 to 7 different major corporations and choose what to make national news. Now this is not necessarily aimed at our local media as I have plenty of friends who are journalists and reporters. This is aimed at the actual Corporate Conglomerate who make these decisions on what to air and what not to air across the nation.
The Father of Michael Brown has urged residents of Ferguson, Missouri for Peace and Prayer and to make for a positive change so his son's death is not in vain. Yet many have not listened and instead rioted, looted, and burned businesses to the ground. Hundreds of shots fired, assaults, and even Molotov cocktails thrown at officers. How is this honoring the death of Michael Brown? What positive impact is this leaving on the town, for our younger generation?
Now for everyone protesting, looting, and/or rioting in Ferguson, Boston, Detroit, and more importantly in my surrounding areas of Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and my hometown Battle Creek; how many of you are related to Michael Brown or his family? How many of you grew up with him or around him and considered him a friend? What is your actual connection to him or his family?
To the protesters in other cities; how many of your own precincts officers were part of the the Missouri Precinct the time that Michael Brown was shot? What has your local Police Department done to contribute to the shooting and death of this man? What makes the act of one officer's action reflect to the rest of the precincts across the Nation?
So tell me...To Mr. Brown's request to make a positive change from the outcome...what positive change are you making in your community? What are you doing to help the youth to better them self? How are you impacting their lives to become a better person, to learn, to work hard, to have morals and values? Teach them to work for what they want, teach them real history, and teach them for peace. This is for all ages, races, all creeds, ethnicity, and all colors. I ask of you; what are you doing to better this world and to create positive change?
