So, it has been a little while since I last posted in my blog. Sorry I have been away for so long. Even though I love to write, and express my very open opinions, or other things going on in my life; sometimes I just don't get around to it or have enough time in the day...or I simply forget. Sorry.
So, Battle Creek has an annual thing called, "The World's Largest Breakfast Table". I have attended the past few years as a volunteer, but I went a lot when I was younger as a kid with my parents. Back when growing up, the Breakfast table was the largest in the world and had thousands show up. It is kind of sad that it is no longer the reigning Largest Breakfast Table in the World.
But this year, at the breakfast table my Team (Southwest Michigan Emergency Response Team) and I were there overseeing things and making sure everyone was okay. We had communications between everyone, and was having a good and enjoyable time. Lots of people showed up and the day was gorgeous out. Since our team is run through the City of Battle Creek Police we are only activated by Law Enforcement, and there was a pretty good turnout of Enforcement there for the public safety.
We ended up getting there about an hour early to set ourselves up and then wait for everything to get rolling. It was a pretty quiet day and a few of us ended up wandering around and enjoying the time there with everyone as well as picking up a good bowl of Cereal. After being there for a pretty decent amount of time, I was almost going to leave and we ended up having a kid turn up missing. So I gathered the troops together and told everyone to grab a partner and to head in certain directions. Though out this time, while searching, we ended up getting more missing kids. We took in a total of five missing kids, and all five were reunited with their parents.
So, that was pretty cool to do. And after a few weeks of chatting with a friend of mine, we were both thinking of joining the Sheriff Reserve and to do so you have to take a class at KCC (Kellogg Community College). So we both signed up and are set to take the Criminal Justice Course 222-60 this fall. After that, I plan to also take my Firefighter 1&2 and then get my EMT. These are goals, but I have not yet made my decision on my "vision" or future of what I actually want to do with the rest of my life. Yes, I work third shift that pays decent with good benefits, but I also want to make a difference and put a positive impact into the world before I go. And where I'm at now, does not allow me to do that.
Oh, wait, wait, wait. Before I forget...okay actually I did...I'm just editing it and putting it in right now. I was imported into the United States from Seoul, South Korea on Friday, July 13th, 1984. Today, today is Friday, July 13th, 2012. A real anniversary. I think I will celebrate by watching a little TV and falling asleep to it.
Well, that's all I really want to type now. I just got done working from a long, hot twelve hour shift and my dogs are killing me. The cement does not do wonders for me. Instead it makes me wonder how I'm still able to walk with me having flat feet. Hope you are all doing well, as well as your friends and families and may you be blessed.
