Hey everyone! So it has been a few days since I have updated everyone, so I figured I'd get on here and inform everyone about Tricia's status. As of now Tricia is a healthy thriving young woman. She was feeling a little sick, but she is still coming back to 100% since she came back home from the hospital the other day. We brought her back to Battle Creek so she could enjoy some time with her immediate family.
Tricia is back eating anything and everything that her little heart desires or her stomach tells her to, since she is making up for the three to four days without any food or liquid at all. Spending the night and eating a large roast with dinner rolls and some excellent homemade desert we had a good time together. Tricia, our brother Mike, my niece Taylor, and myself went out to Applebee's today for lunch then scoured the mall to buy some odd little things for amusement.
Around 3, my brother in law Erik, Mike, Tricia, and myself left for Ann Arbor. We dropped Tricia off at her apartment to spend some down time with her and her boyfriend of like forever and a decade Nate. Then we dropped Mike off at the DTW airport in Detroit because he had to fly out today back down to North Carolina to get back to work.
So tomorrow Nate is taking Tricia back to the hospital for a checkup and I believe a few more tests to make sure everything is functioning properly like they should be. And if those tests are once again positive the only thing we need to focus on is finding another drug to stop her cancer from growing once again.
I would still like to say to everyone who has kept up with this, all who have asked questions and voiced their concerns and prayers....THANKS! Without your support and prayers, and telling God to give us a miracle I don't think I'd be giving you all this good news. The only thing we need to pray for now is that the medical team of doctors can find a drug to get the cancer to become dormant once again.
To those of you who are wondering about Tricia's cancer, we have done a little research ourselves. The name of her fast growing, recently new cancer is Pediatric G.I.S.T. (Gastrointestinal stromal tumor). We have found out that it is genetic, and because of the fast spread of the cancer it is hard to find it before it's too late, which we were lucky. We have also found that it is hereditary and that it has killed an entire family (Bloodline). Honestly to be sure because of how fast Tricia's cancer grew and how aggressive it was, I'm not sure now whether she would be labeled under the Pediatric G.I.S.T. or Adult G.I.S.T. but to those who are wondering, and who have also helped us out tremendously in the past with supply the drugs we needed and other things for charity to us, I urge you to visit and support the Life Raft Group. Their web site telling about G.I.S.T. is http://www.liferaftgroup.org/pediatric_gist/gist_pediatric.html
Thanks and I love all of you!
